But also incredibly fun

He plays Jacob Black of the wolf pack and he was, according to many, very little seen in the first film in the “Twilight Saga.” Come “New Moon” in November, Taylor Lautner will get more onscreen time, and this is something that he has fought really hard for. Moreover, he’s ready to speak about what working on the set of the “Twilight” sequel is really like, in a new interview with ET Online.

As fans must know, the 17-year-old actor has worked really hard once it was announced that he would reprise his role as Jacob in “New Moon.” One of the tasks he had to accomplish was to gain about 30 pounds of muscle mass – not an easy feat, but one that he has already seen through, as the photos taken on set reveal. What’s left for him to do now is to make the movie fans proud of him, as “nerve-wrecking as that may be.”

“We’re here on the set of New Moon, and we have very high expectations, I guess you could say, so yeah, it’s a little nerve-wracking at some points, but for the most part it’s just really exciting to be back and going.” Taylor says for ET Online in a brand new interview that is to air these days. Exciting and fun are just the words to describe what it’s like to be working on one of the most successful film franchises of the moment, some say, especially since Jacob will see plenty more time in front of the camera, as opposed to the first installment where he was merely a supporting actor.

It is precisely because of this that Taylor wanted to make fans “proud” with his performance. In order to do so, he also had to meet certain physical standards, which, as noted above, included gaining weight to bring more credibility to the character. Taylor worked really hard in the gym to get there but, from what the on set photos reveal, he certainly did a fine job at it.

“I’ve been working hard for eight or nine months, and I’ve put on about 26 pounds of muscle. I’m literally in the gym every single day for at least two hours a day. It’s hard work. My motivation is basically my passion for the character of Jacob and the series. I want the fans to be proud of the movie, so I have to live up to Jacob.” Taylor was telling Us Weekly back in January, shortly after confirmation got out that he would be back on “New Moon.”
