14 DAY TRIAL // Two software solutions for handset powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile operatign system have been recently updated, including NotepadWS and Mobile FTP Client. Developed for handsets running under Windows Mobile 5 or higher, the former app offers a nice alternative to other text editing solutions available for the OS, while the latter comes as a client that can enable users to easily download or upload files to a FTP server.
NotepadWS for Windows Mobile, a Notepad-like application that comes with tabs and a nice range of interesting features, such as Web Search, has been update to version 2.56. Among the features of the app, we can count the possibility to edit a number of up to four different text files in the same session, or the option to add or remove tool bars at any time. Moreover, the application also comes with the possibility to perform online searches of selected words or text.
Some of the latest features of the application include added word-wrap options, increased max file size, the possibility to copy and paste text between tabs, as well as a start folder option. Moreover, the app comes with single click option, File and Folder shortcuts boxes, Font and colors customization tool, as well as with the possibility to setup and save the properties of each tab, resulting in the use of four tabs that are completely different from each other.
As for Mobile FTP Client, the solution has been recently released in an updated beta version. The release notes of Mobile FTP Client 1.2.0.10 beta include: - Added: Shows FTP library version number in about dialog - Changed: Will do less changing between transfer modes (Should increase speed) - Changed: Increased wait time between FTP commands, fixing problems with some slow FTP servers - Changed: Some changes to the installer (There where bugs where it could not update the library doing the FTP)
The app already came with features such as the possibility to download or upload files from a FTP server, including support for multiple file transfers at the same time, or with support for both passive and active connections. Other features of the app includes site manager for storing login info, automatically switch between passive and active mode, as well as automatic system detecting new versions.
