14 DAY TRIAL // In case you thought Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is set to update only the BlackBerry mobile operating system to version 6, you were wrong. The company is also working on a BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.0, set to be released into the wild sometime before the end of the summer, and which should go hand in hand with the said mobile operating system, as well as with other enhancements it is said to have prepared for its users.
“Today I am very happy to share some exciting news about the upcoming BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.0 release this summer. We did some major changes to the product inside and out, all to make it a true part of the overall BlackBerry 6 experience. The first invitations to join our BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.0 Limited Beta will start going out today to some of you who have already joined BlackBerry Beta Zone. If you haven’t joined BlackBerry Beta Zone yet, sign up at www.blackberry.com/beta,” a recent post on Inside BlackBerry notes.
A quick look at the screenshots attached to this article is capable of showing you how the upcoming software solution would look like. All in all, it looks pretty appealing and well organized. The software comes with a new look, and with syncing capabilities between the handset and the PC, features that extend to music, pictures, and videos. All in all, the improvements added into the equation are welcomed ones, though it remains to be seen what the final version would be capable of.
At the same time, we still have to see when the solution would be released, for chances are that the first devices to run under the BlackBerry 6 OS would also arrive at that time. Basically, that means that we should expect for the BlackBerry 9800 slider, or another BlackBerry 6-based device from RIM, to land on the market before the summer is over.
