One of the latest features available for users of Windows Live Calendar is the possibility to access the service straight from their mobile phone. According to the developing team, users now have the possibility to access and manage their Windows Live Calendar from any handset that benefits from Internet access, with the option to browse upcoming events or add new events to the calendar.

Moreover, users accessing Windows Live Calendar from their mobile phones can also check on their schedule by day, week, or month. Not to mention that they are able to get previews of event details, set reminders, or do many other actions with the new solution. According to the developing team, one other feature that should appeal a lot to users is the option to access all the calendars they use.

“Now, whether you’re on the web, in Outlook, in the Windows Live Mail software, or on your smart phone, you can manage the shared calendar that you use to coordinate your family, see holidays and birthdays, manage your own personal calendar, and access public calendars from the internet. Try out this cool calendar subscription from our friends at Mixin.com, for instance. It lets you access your Facebook events right from within Windows Live Calendar by simply clicking on this link,” a recent post on the Inside Windows Live blog reads.

However, it should be noted that things might not work as fast as one would expect. Some events might take hours before they appear in the calendar. Even so, the new mobile calendar comes with increased ease of use, offering users the option to organize and track their activities and events no matter where they are. All that one would have to do is head over to calendar.live.com from the browser on his/her phone.

At the moment, the solution comes with support for the following handsets and browsers: iPhone/iPod Touch with Safari 3.0+, Windows Mobile 6.1.4+ with Opera, S 60/5th Generation and upwards, Blackberry 5+, Opera, Palm, Android. Windows Live Calendar for mobile is expected to arrive in Hebrew and Arabic in the next few months.
