With multiple calendars and sharing options

Nokia users now have the possibility to enjoy an updated Calendar web experience, courtesy of the release of Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta. One of the most important features of the new release is the support it includes for multiple calendars, offering those who live busy lives more options to keep track of what's important to them. Since there are users who keep a couple of calendars, such as work calendar, personal calendar, entertainment calendar or similar solutions, the new Ovi Calendar 1.6 release should provide them with what they need.

“What’s more, in Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta, we’ve also added the ability to share specific calendars along with any related notes and to-do lists. So now you can set up a calendar for your family, your sports team, or just your closest group of friends and know that everyone’s always going to be on the same page. Now, we’ve decided to start small. So for now, the beta release of Calendar with multiple calendars and sharing is available only on the web. We do support mobile browsing, though, and you’ll be able to use Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta with all your existing Ovi Calendar data,” a recent post on Nokia Beta Labs states.

According to the development team, there are some known performance issues with Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta, preventing the changes made via this solution to appear immediately in the existing Ovi Calendar, or when syncing with the mobile phone. However, the problem has been identified, and a fix is expected to emerge soon. The guys over at Nokia Beta Labs also note that those who try out the new release should provide feedback on the matter so as to give a hand at improving the experience it can deliver.

Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta can be accessed via http://organiser.ovi.com, where users can sign in with their Nokia Account. Key features of the release include: - Create and edit multiple calendars on the Calendar website to more naturally organize the different aspects of your life (e.g. Family, Friends, Work) - Create and edit notes and to-do items and associate them with calendars or group them into new categories you create - Share calendars and their associated notes and to-do items with your family, friends or colleagues using the Calendar website and sync the shared items to your devices.
