If you were wondering when the next Windows Phone-based HTC devices could be unveiled to the world, we might have an answer for you: September 1st.

The Taiwanese mobile phone maker has already announced plans to hold an event in London on that day, but did not offer specific info on what might be unveiled there.

As soon as HTC posted info on the said event on Facebook, suppositions emerged on the matter, pointing at possible new Android devices, as well as what might be a Windows Phone handset from the company.

Apparently, the launch of a Windows Phone handset might indeed be what HTC is preparing for the said event.

Windows Phone UK has just mentioned the said Facebook announcement on their page on the social networking site, which suggests that a new HTC device running under Microsoft's mobile platform might not be too far.

HTC are having a party on Thursday 1st September and you’re invited,” is what one can read on Windows Phone UK's Facebook page.

Of course, nothing has been officially announced on the matter so far, and there is the possibility that the announcement would be aimed at something else, but the connection between the two posts cannot be denied.

The event would take place one day before IFA kicks off in Germany, and it is interesting to learn that HTC has set its location for London, and not Berlin.

What remains to be seen is whether other companies would also unveil their new Windows Phone devices in early September, the same as HTC might do.

After all, the first Windows Phone Mango handset is already official, none other than the Fujitsu IS12T, and previous rumors did suggest that Microsoft and its partners might launch new such devices as soon as next month. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
