Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation might unveil new handsets to the world as soon as September 1st, recent reports suggest.

On its Facebook page, the handset vendor announced that it would be hosting a party on September 1st in London, which suggests that it might be set to unveil a new mobile phone on that day.

The supposition is based on the fact that HTC made a similar move with the release of HTC Sensation, when it held a party soon after the launch.

“It’s been a while since we last met, so we thought that we’d invite you to come party - and most importantly see what’s next. There will be the usual food, drinks, music and a few phone treats for you to enjoy,” HTC announced on Facebook.

“It would be great to see you. If you’re planning on attending, please RSVP to let us know. Just remember that it’s an event for people over 18 and it’s on a first come, first served basis.”

Clearly, the company plans on unveiling something new, otherwise they wouldn't have invited people to “see what's next.”

For the time being, we have no clue on what the company might plan on releasing on that day, though some suppositions on the matter already emerged.

For example, some of the recent rumors suggest that HTC might be set to launch a new tablet PC, the 10.1-inch Puccini than could be called Jetstream.

On the other hand, reports on a series of new mobile phones from the company also emerged, including info on a HTC Ruby for T-Mobile, or the HTC Bliss, a handset targeted mainly at women.

Of course, we could also assume that HTC is about to unveil a new smartphone running under Microsoft's Windows Phone platform (all the above would run under Android), even if it might be too soon for that.

The list of possible explanations for the London event would continue even more, but we'll stop here and we'll keep an eye out to see what they actually have in mind for their users.
