Nintendo, the company behind the Wii home console and the DS handheld, has announced that its new mini games compilation Wii Party will be launching in Europe on October 8 with a pack that includes a white Wii Remote, in a move designed to encourage gamers to play the game with as many friends as possible.

There are 13 game modes that can be enjoyed in Wii Party and there are more than 80 mini games that players can try out using the Mii characters that are specific to the Wii console.

Players will be able to try out new mini games like the House Party series which includes: Hide ‘n’ Hunt, Animal Tracker, Time Bomb, Word Bomb and Buddy Quiz.

All the above mentioned games can be played by two to four players except the quiz game, which needs at least 3 friends to engage in a bit of friendly competition.

Party Games in the new Wii mini game collection include: Board Game Island, Globe Trot, Bingo, Swap Meet and Spin Off.

All the titles can be played by one to four gamers.

Wii Party has already been launched in July on the Japanese market and the game has performed very well for Nintendo, managing to appear in the video game charts week after week even after other biger selling titles faded from memory.

North American gamers will be able to enjoy Wii Party on October 3 but it's not clear whether Nintendo plans to put out any special bundles for that market.

Video game collections that use the Wii prefix for the name, like Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort, have been some of the biggest hits for Nintendo on its home console.

Their popularity is linked to the way developers managed to create simple to learn experiences that made use of the Wii motion tracking and managed to create social links.
