Sales on the Japanese hardware markets were pretty much steady over the previous week, with the PlayStation Portable from Sony leading the individual sales charts while the Nintendo DS family managed to sell more units when all its versions are combined.

The PSP from Sony managed to sell 28,747 units over seven days, more than the 26,786 sold during the previous period. Meanwhile the DSi LL has seen a decrease from 25,884 to 24,189 to take second place while the Nintendo Wii has managed to stay ahead of the PlayStation 3, with sales of 21,092 units beating 19,420. Fifth place went to the older DS Lite mode, which actually saw an increase in sales to 18,202, followed by Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the DS Lite, the PS2 and the PSP Go. The Microsoft made home console is seeing the impact of a new model, managing to move more than 6,000 on a market where sales have been traditionally weak.

When it comes to video games Nintendo must be in a celebratory mood as Wii Party, which had reached four spot in the charts, managed to jump back to number one in the week that ended on July 25. The Wii exclusive managed to sell 99,000 units, which is a good number for a game that is not a new entry. Fate/Extra, from Marvelous and for the PlayStation Portable, conquered second spot in the chart with 72,000 copies sold while third spot went to Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge from Level 5 for the Nintendo DS also registered a comeback, reaching third spot coming from seventh. Fourth place went to a former number one Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow, with sales of 39,000 units while Dragon Quest: Monsters Battle Road Victory from Square Enix took fifth place, managing to move 36,000 games to players.
