As expected, Sprint has just introduced the Wi-Fi only Motorola XOOM, which is available across all carrier's stores in the United States for $600

It appears that customers who wish to purchase the tablet will have to go to the nearest Sprint store, as the XOOM is not available online for the moment.

Furthermore, Sprint's XOOM costs as much as Verizon's tablet, so potential customers won't be making any deals by choosing one or the other.

Equipped with a powerful dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H processor, Motorola XOOM is the first tablet to run the Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform.

It comes with a large 10.1-inch widescreen HD display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which is also capable of capturing HD movies (720p@30fps).

Unfortunately, this version of the XOOM won't be subsidized, so it won't require any kind of activation, but it will still be able to access the Internet via Wi-Fi connection.

On related news, Sprint is also offering the eco-friendly Samsung Replenish Android 2.2 smartphone, which is now available for purchase for as low as $49.99 with a new line activation or eligible upgrade, on an Everything plan with data and a two-year agreement.

The Replenish is partially built from recycled eco-plastics and it is delivered in an eco-friendly packaging.

The phone comes with a dedicated Sprint ID Green Pack app pre-loaded that is supposed to make users become aware of the environmental issues and live greener.

Optionally, customers can also purchase a special solar door charger for on-the-go charging.

Samsung Replenish is available at Sprint's stores and online starting today. Those who purchase it may take advantage of the carrier's special offer that saves them $10 per month on their wireless service.

As a side note, those expecting RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook will probably be disappointed by the fact that Sprint decided to delay the tablet indefinitely.
