As expected, HTC Flyer is now available for purchase via Best Buy for $499.99. The retailer is selling the Wi-Fi model of the HTC Flyer, but is expected to offer the 3G version in the following weeks.

Best Buy officially announced that it will carry HTC's first Android tablet last week, but has yet to unveil any information regarding the 3G version of the device.

However, it appears that the Europeans got the tablet among the first, as the Taiwanese manufacturer introduced the HTC Flyer since May 13th.

We are delighted by the positive reactions that HTC Flyer has received since we first unveiled it in February and are pleased to be able to bring it to major markets across EMEA,” said Florian Seiche, president HTC EMEA.

HTC Flyer is completely different from any other tablet on the market and we look forward to hearing about the different ways in which our customers use HTC Flyer in their daily lives – for both work and play,” Seiche added.

Unfortunately, the HTC Flyer is delivered without the innovative stylus that can be used with the new HTC Scribe technology.

HTC's unique technology allows users to take notes, sign contracts, draw pictures, or even write on a web page or photo with ease by simply using a special stylus.

Best Buy customers who want to take advantage of the HTC Scribe technology must purchase Flyer's stylus separately for no less than $79.99.

As a reminder, the HTC Flyer is one of the few tablets to be shipped without Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform.

Instead, the tablet runs Android 2.4 Gingerbread operating system, along with the HTC Sense user-friendly interface.

Furthermore, the tablet is powered by a single core 1.5Ghz processor and features a 7-inch multi-touch display.

In addition, HTC Flyer is the first tablet to feature HTC Watch, the company's new video download service that offers more than 600 premium movies and TV shows from major studios.
