Samsung has just announced that its white version of Galaxy S II Android smartphone will hit shelves in UK on September 1st across all major carriers and retailers.
Although rumors were pointing to an August release for the white Galaxy S II, it appears that the phone's release date was pushed back a bit.
Following the launch of the popular Galaxy S II, the white version of the phone has the same features and design as the original.
Having a super slim (8.49mm) body and being very light (116g), Samsung’s Galaxy S II runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor.
The Galaxy S II is the first phone to bring Samsung's Super AMOLED technology on the mobile market.
The ground-breaking ‘organic’ LED technology saves energy so users can enjoy watching content without affecting the battery life.
Given its dual-core processor, the Galaxy S II offers users a smooth multi-tasking experience, fast loading web pages such as Google, Yahoo and YouTube quick, as well as superior 3D hardware for exceptional gaming.
“The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S II white brings to market an incredibly stylish addition to our latest multi-award winning handset,” said Simon Stanford, managing director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.
The Galaxy S II boasts a superior 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording and playback, as well as a 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
In addition, Samsung’s patented AllShare technology allows users to share pictures, movies, and music with other devices via local Wi-Fi connections.
“The Galaxy S II is our slimmest, lightest, fastest and now whitest smartphone, the first device to offer Super AMOLED Plus screen technology, alongside the most advanced technical specifications including the latest Android OS and a dual core processor,” concluded Stanford.
The smartphone comes pre-loaded with social networking and applications such as Samsung Hubs, which provides a huge range of entertainment content and advanced mobile games.
