14 DAY TRIAL // After releasing the GLEAM+ feature-phone in the UK, Motorola and Tesco have teamed up once again to offer customers the affordable MOTOLUXE Android smartphone in ice white version.
Android enthusiasts living in the UK can grab the white Motorola MOTOLUXE for free from £20 a month on Tesco Mobile. It is now available in Tesco Phone Shops and online through Tesco Direct.
Just like the licorice version, the white-themed Motorola MOTOLUXE comes with a large 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.
The MOTOLUXE is a mid-range smartphone, but it sets itself apart from other handsets in the same price category with a lanyard slot that lights up when users have missed a call, text or email.
The lanyard slot also allows users to check their battery charge without having to light up the phone’s display.
“The new MOTOLUXE in white offers even more choice to UK fashionistas when it comes to smartphones that combine sleek style and high-end features that won’t break the bank,” said Victoria McManus, UK & Nordics marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
Another strong point of the smartphone is the powerful 8-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
As expected, the MOTOLUXE runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform integrated with Motorola’s MotoSwitch user interface.
Hardware-wise, the smartphone is far from being impressive. It packs an 800 MHz single-core processor, an Adreno 200 GPU, 1 GB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
