14 DAY TRIAL // Vodafone UK has just confirmed that it will offer the white version of the highly-acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S II Android smartphone, ahead of its September release.
A Vodafone representative confirmed the information for SoMobile, by saying: “Yes, we will be getting the white Galaxy S2.”
In addition, the carrier also stated that customers who want to purchase the white flavor of the Galaxy S II won't have to pay more than the darker version, which means that the smartphone will be available for free on a £36.00 tariff, including 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of mobile data.
In other news, another UK-based carrier confirmed that it will launch the white-colored Galaxy S II sometime in September.
Aside from listing the phone on the “Coming Soon” webpage, a Three UK spokesperson said that: “Samsung’s Galaxy S II has been hot property this year, so there’s no doubt that this new variant will be very popular, especially amongst our customers who look for a little glamour alongside functionality.”
Three UK will be offering the white Galaxy S II on contract from £30 per month, as well as on a PAYG (pay as you go) for £499.99.
The white Galaxy S II is also expected to be available from various major retailers, including Clove, which has already confirmed that the phone will be put on sale starting August 15.
However, it appears that Clove plans to sell the white flavor of the handset for about $30 more than the darker version.
All in all, both black and white versions of the Galaxy S II features the same specs, so it's just a matter of color taste.
Dubbed as Samsung's Android flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S II is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and comes with a brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
The phone is equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Exynos processor and packs 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).
