Last week, Mozilla made available for download a new version of their mobile browser, Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo, which hit the beta 3 stage, and which is moving fast towards a final flavor.

The new release comes with a nice range of changes when compared to the previous releases, and is also the first beta of Firefox 4 to be released in the Android Market.

Although there are other applications that sport the name of Firefox in the app store, one would certainly find the web browser pretty easily in the Market, that's for sure.

As for the Maemo version of the application, it was made available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.

According to the development team behind Firefox for Mobile, those users interested in trying out the new iteration of the application should uninstall any previous flavors of the browser that might have been installed on their devices.

In case there are some who might not know how to remove the application from their handsets, they should head over to this page on Mozilla's website to learn more on the matter.

As for the novelties that were included in the new release, they are plenty, starting with various keyboard fixes, and going all the way to the addition of 'copy and paste' feature.

“For this release, we made a number of changes to the look of Firefox 4 Beta, made discovery of add-ons easier, added the ability to save websites as PDFs to read later, fixed some keyboard issues and included support for complex scripts such as Arabic and Persian (on devices with the appropriate fonts),” Caitlin Looney notes in a recent blog post.

The addition of 'copy and paste' to Firefox 4 Beta for Android and Maemo should appeal to a lot of users out there, since it applies to the URL bar, making it easier at some times to access a new link.

At the same time, we should note that Firefox Sync was simplified in the new release, which would result in reduced typing when it comes to accessing browsing history, bookmarks, tabs and passwords from a desktop PC on the mobile phone.

The changes included in the new Firefox 4 beta 3 for Android and Maemo are not limited to the user experience alone. The full release notes for the new browser version are available here.
