WebOS 1.4.1.1, the latest version of Palm's mobile operating system, is expected to start rolling-out for Palm Pre Plus users on Verizon's airwaves as soon as today. The new software update is expected to be pushed to all users within the following 10 days, yet those willing to benefit from its features earlier should be able to find it available for download through the Update app on the phone.

Sunnyvale-based mobile phone maker Palm has started to deploy the new software solution for its users on other carriers since the beginning of April, and now it is made available for Verizon's customers too. According to the wireless carrier, the Palm webOS 1.4.1.1 Build 158 update is set to provide users with a wide range of enhancements and improvements.

Among these novelties, we can count easier to use Bluetooth, more accurate displayed time feature, easier connection management, as well as improved Touchstone charger interaction. The battery life of Pre Plus has been improved when turning off Bluetooth without pairing the device, the EV-DO connections are improved when switching from Wi-Fi to CDMA, while newly taken photos and videos do not overwrite existing ones.

The list of improvements brought by webOS 1.4.1.1 also includes: - pinch to zoom now work in more applications - the onscreen volume slider now appears correctly - more accurate keyboard input - the forward gesture now works in the browser - the LCD reset issue has been resolved - the back gesture now returns to the file list screen in certain applications - the shutter sound is more responsive when taking a picture.

Additional details on what the new software solution includes should be found on Palm's support website. At the same time, those interested in learning how to perform the download should head over to Verizon's support page. For the time being, there are no details available on whether the update will come on Pixi Plus too, nor on when that might happen.
