Comic books have served as the basis for a lot of interesting projects lately, either coming from Hollywood or from various video game companies, which transfer heroes from the graphic novels onto the screens of players all around the world.

One of the most recent endeavors in both entertainment mediums is Watchmen, which will see its DVD release in the following days, after showing up in cinemas all around the world at the beginning of the year. But it also showed up on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in the form of Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, a third-person brawler, which we had the chance to spend an hour with.

That was the first of two episodes, and it seems that the experience will be completed soon, as The End is Nigh 2 will appear at the end of this month in a variety of ways. From The Complete Experience, which will be available for PlayStation 3 users, to a bundle for Xbox 360 gamers and a retail offer for everybody, it will certainly please many fans.

Here is the complete offering, as revealed by Warner Bros.:

Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience is an innovative, retail, Blu-ray, Hi-Def game and film hybrid, which will include Watchmen: The End is Nigh Parts 1 and 2 and the Watchmen: Director's Cut on Blu-ray. This new cut of the action-packed blockbuster includes an additional 25 minutes of footage not seen in theaters, available only on Blu-ray and DVD. The two-disc collectible set will also feature exclusive artwork in a premium package. The game will be playable on the PLAYSTATION 3, which can also play the Blu-ray disc of Watchmen: Director's Cut. The Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience will be available on July 21 for a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh Parts 1 and 2 will be released as a single game available for the Xbox 360 on July 21 for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh Part 2 will be available for download on PC on July 29 and PlayStation Network on July 30 for a suggested retail price of $14.99 and on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 on August 26 for 1,200 Microsoft Points.

The first game was an enjoyable experience, albeit quite repetitive, and the comic book-style cut scenes were extremely nice for any fan. Look forward to the second episode in the next few weeks.
