“Playing dead” really is the best option you have, experts say

Only yesterday, we reported on how a hiker in Alaska ended up being killed after it got a bit too close to a grizzly bear in an attempt to take some close-ups of the animal.

Therefore, we considered it worthwhile to bring this video to your attention, as this short clip discusses what needs be done in case one finds themselves in a similar situation.

Apparently, the old myth that “playing dead” really is the best option one has when dealing with an angry grizzly bear is in fact quite according to reality.

Truth be told, playing dead (i.e. laying on your belly and placing your hands on the back of your neck) does not mean that the bear will suddenly decide to leave you alone. Quite the contrary: it will carry on with its attack, only that your vitals will be well protected.

Hopefully, you will never have to use the information provided in this video, but no harm can come out of knowing.
