The new devices run on Samsung’s own Tizen OS, instead of Android

Samsung has pulled the veil off a trio of new wearables at MWC 2014, including the successors of the Galaxy Gear, the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo plus the Gear Fit health-centric wrist-band.

Now Samsung has posted an official hands-on video for the Gear 2 and Gear Fit, so customers can get a clearer image of the products, before placing an order.

Both wearables can work in concert with your smartphone to rely notifications and bundle heart rate monitors.

The more advanced of the two, the Gear 2 can be used independently, in the sense that one can stream music over Bluetooth while being out for a run or a walk. On top of that, users will be able to use it to place voice calls and even as a remote of sorts, capable of controlling the TV via the embedded IR blaster.

Other highlights of the two models include the IP67 certification, which basically means you get two wearables that are water and dust resistant, so they won't be so easily damaged.

Customization is allowed at some level, as the watch straps are exchangeable, but it doesn't reach the level of the BLOCKS smartwatch that lets you choose anything from screen size to what apps you have installed onboard.

Anyway take a look at the video, to get an idea what’s headed your way.
