Singer reveals emotional moment during Superbowl performance, motherhood struggles

If you ever wondered whether it's “tough being Madonna,” now it's your chance to find out. Her full interview with Rock Center's Brian Williams, which aired the other night, is embedded in full at the end of the article.

As we also noted the other day, the Queen of Pop sat down for an interview with NBC, in what is considered to be one of the most honest and moving televised talks she ever took part in.

The video below will confirm just that: not only does Madonna talk about how emotional she got during her Halftime performance at the Super Bowl, but she also opens up about certain aspects of her personal life kept well under wraps so far.

For instance, she confirms that all the “disses” apparent on her latest album, “M.D.N.A.,” are really what they seem: jabs at her ex husband, film director Guy Ritchie.

She also talks about the pressure that comes with being number 1 because, one might assume, there's no possibility to go higher than that.

After 3 decades in the industry, Madonna knows better than anyone how difficult it is to sell albums, which probably explains why she doesn't even address the “controversy” of her latest release registering a record-breaking sales drop (of almost 90%) in its second week.

She does talk, however, of another challenge she tackles on a daily basis, that of being a single mother, as we also informed you the other day.

For starters, Madonna reveals she's tired and would love some time off.

“I imagine. It must be [hard being Madonna]. Yes, it is. It must be hard 'cause I complain all the time,” Madonna says laughing.

“To be a single mother of four and to work as much as I do, to live my life in kind of a metaphorical fishbowl, it's pretty challenging. But so far I've survived with sanity and humor intact,” she adds on a more serious note.

One thing she doesn't joke about is her daughter's recent habit: smoking. Lourdes Leon (Lola), 15, was photographed smoking by the paparazzi, and Madonna reveals she was very upset about it, concluding she should become a tougher mom than she is now.

“I don't smoke. That's just an accessory, Harry. There's a difference. She smoked that cigarette before I did that video, so she didn't get that from me, OK?” the singer says when the interviewer points out that she too smokes in her latest video.
