As some of you already know, last month, Voodoo PC released two new computer systems that came with some very unique features. One of those computer systems was the Voodoo Envy, an ultra-portable notebook that could actually prove to be an Apple MacBook competitor, the only difference being that it runs on Windows. As of late, the manufacturer has also updated its web page and users can now see a range of prices for this uniquely designed notebook.

The system's configurator that has been placed on the Voodoo PC website isn't like the ones found on Dell' or Alienware's web pages. Even more, for the moment, you have to go the Voodoo Omen product page and select "Make your own" in order to get to the system's configurator for the Envy. Users will find there three pre-set configurations, each one having three options they can select from. Each one of these has its own name, and either of the three indicates only a certain type of user. The names, Casual User, Power User and Road Warrior, also point to the starting price set for each configuration.

Once you are done setting up your computer system, you are redirected to a page where you get to choose the color of your Voodoo Envy notebook. The standard finish is a "Black Weave," but for an additional $500 you get choose one of three "Voodoo Core Colors," or one of the 11 available "Voodoo Classic Colors" which will take the notebook's price tag up by $600.

After this step, you will be redirected to the "Sales" page, where you can't actually place your order. What you can do, instead, is to choose from the following options: "Request a price quote," "I will contact Voodoo," "Have a sale representative call me" and "Chat with a sale representative now."

The guys at Hot Hardware went ahead and contacted a Voodoo sales representative, from whom they found out that the new Voodoo Envy will start shipping by the end of August, but this is yet to be confirmed by the company.

Even so, if the shipping date is real, by the end of the year, we will definitely see whether the new notebook is capable of competing with Apple's MacBook in terms of number of sold units.
