HP has announced today, during its Connecting Your World event, a number of new product releases meant to improve on the company's already known product lineup. Starting with their consumer and business notebooks, and ending with their Voodoo PC brand, the company has rolled out a number of impressive additional products.

HP's Voodoo brand now has two new products in its portfolio, dubbed Voodoo Omen desktop and Voodoo Envy 133 notebook. Although they were part of the company's lineup before the Connecting Your World event, with this release, the two products got better specs and design. And, even if both are designed to offer users the unique experience and computing power of the Voodoo PC, the desktop Omen is probably more impressive than the Envy 133 portable computer.

And the reason for that is that the 22-inch in height, aluminum chassis comes built with an integrated USB driven 7-inch widescreen display, which can support a maximum resolution of 800 by 400 pixels and should provide the user with information about the Omen's internal state. However, the real functionality of the 7-inch widescreen is yet to be unveiled. Starting at a price tag of $7,000, the Omen will most probably be taken in consideration by only a small number of enthusiast users.

"The new Voodoo portfolio is designed to appeal to consumers who have very high expectations for form, function and looks," said Mike Perkins, vice president and general manager, Voodoo Business Unit, HP. "Our new Voodoo systems exemplify technology excellence while also looking like they would fit as well at an art gallery as on a desk." he concluded by saying.

With the Envy 133 notebook, HP has succeeded in designing a relatively slim-looking 13.3-inch portable computer that comes with a multiple gesture touchpad, a feature which users can also find on Apple's MacBook Pro. Another feature that makes the Voodoo PC Envy resemble the already mentioned Apple product is its backlit keyboard. The Envy 133 will have a starting price tag of $2,099.

"We worked with HP to enable the Voodoo Envy 133 to be as small as possible without losing key features such as performance and battery life," said Mooly Eden, corporate vice president and general manager, Mobile Platforms Group, Intel. "The final outcome is a terrific notebook that showcases the benefits of our Intel Centrino platform, which retains a high level of performance and low-energy consumption even after we shrunk it by more than 50 percent using our expertise in packaging technology." he explained.
