The highly anticipated Nokia E7 smartphone from Finnish handset vendor Nokia is expected to make an appearance on the UK market on the airwaves of wireless carrier Vodafone, which has already put the smartphone on a 'coming soon' page on its website.

Running under the new Symbian^3 operating system, the Nokia E7 is headed for the market in a sliding design, with a landscape QWERTY keyboard emerging from under the handset's touchscreen display.

The Nokia E7 is great if you send a lot of messages and emails from your phone. A QWERTY keypad slides out from underneath the screen - perfect for typing longer emails or documents. Or if you're just sending a quick text, you can tap it out on the touchscreen,” Vodafone notes on its website.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that delivers a nHD (640 x 360 pixels) resolution, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash and HD 720p video recording capabilities. A secondary camera for video calling has been included into the mix as well.

According to Vodafone, “the Nokia E7's 8 megapixel camera lets you take high quality pictures whenever the opportunity arises. The crisp 4" screen makes viewing them a joy. And you can share them easily with your friends and family by uploading them to your favorite social network.”

The handset lands on shelves with 16 GB of internal memory, and with support for 3Gm WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, as well as with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro USB connector, a HDMI slot, and FM Radio.

Nokia packed the mobile phone with GPS receiver, as well as with a BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, and with a series of applications like Mail for Exchange, Quickoffice dynamic premium, Adobe PDF Reader, F-Secure Anti-theft for Mobile, or Ovi Maps with free GPS navigation.

The phone also includes business features, the carrier continues: “If you're out and about a lot for business, keep in touch by sending and receiving emails on the Nokia E7. You can also sync your work calendar, contacts and tasks - so you don't have to worry about missing out on an important meeting.”

You can see the Nokia E7 listed on Vodafone UK's coming soon page here. Unfortunately, specific info on when would the handset be released at the carrier, or on the price tag it might feature, lack at the moment.
