Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has announced in September last year new handsets running under the Symbian^3 operating system, including the yet unavailable Nokia E7, which has already started to be listed as with pre-order status in various markets around the world.

Initially set to be put on shelves in the UK before the end of 2010, the smartphone got delayed a little more than expected, and it might not be released on the market for a few months more.

Online retailer Expansys lists the Nokia E7 as set to become available for purchase in the UK only in April, about two months and a half from now.

Most probably, there might have been some sort of a mistake here, for it is hard to believe that Nokia has pushed back a flagship device for no less than two quarters.

Other than that, we should note that the Nokia E7 is listed at the said retailer with a price tag of £494.99 attached to it, free of contract.

The E7 already appeared as available for pre-order on Nokia's website in several countries around the world, and was listed in Finland, for example, for €599 ($796), SIM free.

Apparently, Amazon Germany is also listing the device, without a specific release date attached to it, but with a price tag of €629 next to it, UnwiredView reports.

The Nokia E7 was expected at one point to become available for purchase in January the latest, but it seems that enthusiasts would actually have to wait a little more for it to arrive on shelves.

However, the availability date listed on Expansys was not confirmed for the time being, and it might prove inaccurate, so there's still hope that Nokia would be able to ship the phone earlier than that (previous rumors pinned it to a February 16th release).

For those who might have not encountered the device before, we should note that it comes with a 4-inch touchscreen display, a sliding full QWERTY keyboard, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, and a BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery inside.

The handset also includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, 16 GB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, enhanced Internet capabilities, as well as multimedia and messaging functionality.
