Vodafone and HTC have just announced the availability of the HTC Sensation in Romania, for as low as 139 Euros with a new two-year agreement.

During the presentation, HTC stated that thanks to its strategic partnership with Vodafone, Romania is now ranked second among its businesses in South-Eastern Europe.

Vodafone has exclusivity over HTC's flagship Android smartphone, but only for a month, after which the handset will be available in retail stores and possibly other major carriers.

As a reminder, the Sensation is equipped with a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by the next-generation Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

The phone features full HSDPA support and boasts a superior 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Furthermore, it comes with a large qHD 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

In addition, it packs 1 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB included).

According to the handset maker, the phone's 1520 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 350 hours (400 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 8 hours (7 hours for 3G) of talk time.

On related news, Vodafone Romania has a long history as a traditional partner for HTC, as the carrier also marked a few premiers in the country, such as the launch of the first Android smartphone (HTC Magic) and the first device to feature the HTC Sense 3.0 UI (HTC Desire HD).

It will be interesting to see how the HTC Sensation will fare against Samsung's Galaxy S II smartphone, when it comes to performance and functionality, as the Taiwanese manufacturer prides itself with one of the best multimedia experiences with the HTC Sense user interface.
