After Bell revealed the upcoming release of the HTC Wildfire S, it appears that Virgin Mobile will pick the Android smartphone as well

Although none of the carriers have enlisted the device to their 'coming soon' webpages, the Wildfire S is currently available for pre-order via Canadian retailer Baka Wireless.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, the HTC Wildfire S should be available around June 1st for the same price as Bell's Wildfire S, $249.95 off contract.

Equipped with a low 600 MHz processor, users should expect to receive the device with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out-of-the-box, which is surely to make the device more appealing to Android fans.

The handset packs a standard amount of memory: 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Even though it is a low-budget handset, the Wildfire S comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

The handset's display is protected against scratches and accidental drops by resistant Gorilla glass and sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.

Furthermore, the Wildfire S seems to be delivered with the manufacturer's proprietary HTC Sense user-friendly interface running on top of the operating system.   That should provide users with a wide range of customization options, along with maximum functionality offered by Google's mobile services.

The HSDPA-enabled entry-level smartphone comes with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

Packed with Google's full suite of apps, HTC Wildfire S allows users to access services such as Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk.

If nothing goes wrong Bell and Virgin Mobile are likely to launch the HTC Wildfire S about the same time and for similar prices.
