After Bell announced that it will be among the first to introduce the most powerful Android smartphone manufactured by HTC, the Sensation in the next few weeks, Virgin Mobile confirmed that it will carry the handset as well.

The announcement doesn't come as a surprise, as Virgin Mobile is owned by major carrier Bell, but at least customers will have the option to choose from two offers rather than one.

Confirmed via Twitter, Virgin Mobile Canada stated the further details about the phone's release date and price will be unveiled in due time:

phone news! we'll be adding the @htc sensation 4G to our hot line-up. niiiice. stay tuned for more details.”

Although no official information regarding the phone's price has been disclosed, it is likely that the HTC Sensation will be priced at $549.95, the same retail value announced by Bell.

However, Virgin Mobile customers will probably be offered the chance to purchase the phone on a Virgin Tab agreement, if they do not wish to sign a new contract with Bell, though the money will go to the latter in either cases.

HTC's new Android flagship smartphone, the Sensation is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by the next-generation Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

The phone runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with the new and improved HTC Sense 3.0 UI and fully supports HTCSense.com services.

The Sensation boasts a superior 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Furthermore, it comes with a large 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB included).

The phone's 1520 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 350 hours (400 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 8 hours (7 hours for 3G) of talk time.
