Following the huge success the 5 Megapixel LG Viewty had and still has, LG recently rolled out a new photo contest for all the photography lovers out there. Named Viewtyful World, the competition is presented together with Yahoo!, Flickr and National Geographic.

Until the 11th of June 2008, users will be able to submit their photos on the contest's website, under three categories: "Night View", "Retouch" and "Moments". All photos must have a fix resolution to enter the contest: 174 x 254 mm / 150dpi.

LG will offer three Viewty handsets weekly, to those who submit the photos with the most online votes. Moreover, two photos will be chosen every week by a famous National Geographic photographer, and the final winner will be awarded with $10,000 in cash. His or her creation will also appear in a future issue of the National Geographic magazine.

If all this sounds interesting, head on over to the Viewtyful World website (available for now in English, simplified Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish), found at this address. Try to ignore the mouse pointer that's probably intended to be a stylus but it looks more like a screwdriver, and decide under what category you will upload your photos.

Currently available in more than 60 countries, LG Viewty is a 3G enabled handset that, besides the 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and 120fps video recording, offers a full touchscreen interface, a simple but elegant look and various other high-end features. Although its retail price is far from being affordable (somewhere around $500 or 320 Euro), the handset reached high sales both in Europe and around the world. Unfortunately for the US users, Viewty is not yet available in the States, and it will probably be released there only in a non-3G version.
