While Corsair is enjoying its laurels, after having unleashed the fastest DDR3 memory module on the market, ViewSonic seems to be preparing for some recognition of its own with its VX2739wm monitor. Designed with a screen size of 27 inches, the display solution claims to possess performance capabilities that make it worthy of being backed up by not just a three-year warranty, but also ViewSonic's strongest pixel performance guarantee.

The new, 27-inch display has a response time of only 1ms. This, in itself, is more than noteworthy, but the true asset of the video output device is the fact that it operates at this speed without compromising on image quality. The screen has a maximum resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000:1. Not only that, but ViewSonic also implemented an ECO mode feature that could reduce energy consumption by up to 35%.

Basically, this monitor is a multi-purpose device with special features that enhance immersion during gaming or multimedia playback. The experience is further enhanced by the built-in speakers with SRS Premium Surround Sound and the possibility of mounting the display on a wall, through the use of a VESA mount. As for connectivity, there are HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs, as well as a four-port USB hub.

"We have been in the monitor business for more than 20 years, and every day we continue to innovate and push the limits of what is possible," Sean Gunduz, senior product manager for ViewSonic, said. "We are proud to announce that our new VX2739wm is the world's first and only 27" 1080p entertainment monitor to offer a 1ms response time. This is truly an industry-leading display experience."

ViewSonic has already allowed Amazon, Newegg and PCMall to set its 27-inch VX2739wm up for pre-order. Those willing to place their order now will be able to take advantage of the special introductory price of only $349.
