The AMOLED display seems better than the transflective LCD

Samsung Omnia II and Nokia N900 are two of the hottest mobile phones of the year 2009, one should agree. Each of them has a lot to offer to users, including impressive connectivity and multimedia features, as well as great touchscreen displays, and it is rather interesting to see them put together on video. Omnia II brings forth its AMOLED display, while N900 has the LCD screen from Nokia, and, since both are popular devices,  one should take a few minutes to watch the video below to see how each of them can perform when sunlight and a video playback are put into the same equation.

OLED/AMOLED displays have made it into the head lines quite a few times during the ongoing year, especially since Samsung decided to include them in its high-end phones, while also touting their capabilities when compared to other technologies. Vivid colors are something that one is looking for on a mobile device, that's for sure, yet things are not as simple when sunlight is involved. However, the video below will show you that the Omnia II plays the clip a little better than the N900, even if the light hits its display directly at certain moments.

The video that shows the comparison between the Samsung Omnia II and the Nokia N900 comes from the guys over at oled-info, and they also have another comparison video with the two devices, with no sunlight involved in it this time. While the OLED display seems to perform better here too, one should also agree that there are still a few things that need to be polished. The performance levels of the screens were increased from the first OLED's to the newest AMOLED's, and Samsung will probably make even more enhancements to the technology in the future, which means that it might not come as a surprise if these displays manage to conquer the mobile phone world in the end.
