Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to bring to the market in the near future some new, highly appealing Android-based devices, and some more info on the availability of some of them emerged.

One of these handsets would be the DROID Charge from Samsung, which is now rumored to make an official appearance as soon as April 14th.

The mobile phone was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, but did not get an official name at that time, nor a specific release date.

However, recent info that leaked into the wild suggests that the device might be released on April 14th, and that it would sport the name of DROID Charge, just as previously rumored.

Moreover, it seems that Verizon would plan on expanding its DROID family with two smartphones this month, and that the HTC Incredible 2 would hit shelves soon after DROID Charge.

Unlike Samsung's mobile phone, the HTC Incredible 2 would be released only with support for the carrier's 3G network, The DROID Charge would pack 4G LTE radios as well.

The HTC smartphone should be released on April 21st as the direct successor of the HTC Incredible, which was brought to the market about a year ago, and which is no longer available for purchase from Verizon.

Both these DROID smartphones, as well as others more, have been spotted only recently in Verizon's internal systems, suggesting that they should be close to an official release.

Other Android-based mobile phones are also on their way to Verizon's lineup, including the Xperia PLAY from Sony Ericsson, which is expected to land on shelves on April 28th. Hopefully, the handset's launch won't be affected by the earthquake that struck Japan last month.

For the time being, however, nothing was officially confirmed on these release dates, and there's no certainty that they won't be pushed back. Stay tuned for more info on this.
