14 DAY TRIAL // Major carrier Verizon Wireless has just announced new prepaid plans are available for its customers starting May 1. In addition, the operator introduced the Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot (MiFi 4510L) for those who opt for one of the new plans.
According to Verizon, the new prepaid offers customers unlimited talk and text messaging, as well as 1 GB of data for only 80 USD (60 EUR) per month.
It appears that the first prepaid smartphone to be available with these new monthly plans is the Samsung Illusion. This is a mid-range handset powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
Those unfamiliar with the smartphone should know that Samsung Illusion is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
Currently, Samsung Illusion is offered at Verizon Wireless online for only 169.99 USD (130 EUR) on prepaid. The carrier also confirmed that the Samsung Illusion prepaid package would also be available at Best Buy, Target, RadioShack and Walmart in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, starting May 1, customers can also purchase a prepaid Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L, that goes along with the new prepaid Mobile Broadband plans.
With the new device customers will be able to create a personal Wi-Fi cloud capable of sharing Internet connectivity of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices at the same time.
The following prepaid 4G LTE Mobile Broadband plans are now available from Verizon: $15 for 250 MB of data weekly; $60 for 3 GB of data monthly and $90 for 10 GB of data monthly.
Customers who wish to purchase the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L prepaid package will be able to do so via carrier’s store locations and online for 129.99 USD (100 EUR). This one will also be available at Best Buy, RadioShack and Walmart in the coming weeks.
