Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just confirmed the upcoming availability of the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot- MiFi 4620L, starting with April 12th.

The new device will be put up for sale both through the wireless carrier’s website and via the Verizon Wireless Communications Stores around the world.

The Mobile Hotspot will sport a price tag of $49.99 (37 Euros) after a $50 mail-in rebate and requires the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The Verizon Jetpack was unveiled to the world during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early 2012, being touted as the perfect travel companion for all types of users.

The new 4G LTE MiFi 4620L Mobile Hotspot was made by Novatel Wireless and enables users to deliver internet connectivity on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network to a number of up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

Moreover, the hotspot is Global Ready, which means that Verizon customers can use it in a number of more than 205 countries, including more than 125 with 3G speeds.

“With the Verizon Jetpack, customers traveling across the country or around the globe can power their Wi-Fi devices to communicate with family and friends, conduct business, watch movies, read books and listen to music,” the wireless carrier notes.

“In addition to a multicolor LED status indicator, the Jetpack also features an interactive OLED display on the face of the device, allowing customers to scroll through menu options, check security settings, view battery life, display data usage alerts.”

At the moment, Verizon owns the largest LTE network in the United States, covering more than 200 million people in more than 200 markets.

Through this network, users can benefit from data transfer speeds that are up to 10 times faster than those available on 3G. These are available for those who will use the Verizon Jetpack when in Big Red’s 4G LTE coverage area.

“Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted. Customers that purchase the Verizon Jetpack will need to subscribe to a 4G LTE Mobile Broadband data package starting at $50 a month for 5 GB of data,” the carrier also notes.
