Verizon Wireless announced the availability of mShopper on its Mobile Web 2.0 service, an application that allows mobile users to compare prices, browse and buy items right from their cell phones. The mShopper product catalog features more than 9.2 million products from online sellers, including eLuxury, eBags, Bluefly, Shoes.com and others.

mShopper has been optimized for mobile use and has been enhanced with new features that are made available for the first time on Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web 2.0 service. One feature that greatly simplifies the shopping experience is mShopper's search technology that enables users to quickly find a product by entering as little as two characters in the search field. For example, if a customer wants to compare prices for a product he is buying, he can simply enter the first two letters of a brand and model and will get the results in seconds. In addition, customers can also select sizes and colors, essential for products like shoes and cloths, as well as change ship-to addresses and shipping methods with a single click. Users can browse mShopper's catalog by category and by merchant, while a 'Hot Specials' feature allows subscribers to sign up for news on premium discounts and special offers. "By giving millions of Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web customers easy access to mShopper, we're helping people save money and find the products they want," said David Gould, CEO of mShopper. "Our mobile commerce infrastructure empowers users by giving them fast, simple access to the information they need exactly when they need it. Most importantly, it allows them to act on this information to make secure purchases quickly and easily."

Verizon Wireless customers can access mShopper free of charge if they add Mobile Web 2.0 to their handsets. Users can subscribe to Mobile Web 2.0 for $5 per month, or they can sign up for a $15 V CAST VPak monthly subscription which in addition to access to Mobile Web 2.0 also buys them unlimited airtime for Verizon Wireless' V CAST service, ESPN MVP and Get It Now services.
