As expected, Verizon Wireless has just confirmed the Samsung Illusion for November 23 for just $80 (60 EUR) with a new two-year agreement.

However, potential customers should know that the Samsung Illusion will be free for grabbing with a new two-year customer agreement between Nov. 24 and the 28th.

The Illusion comes with the same curved display as the Nexus S, and features a sleek, stylish design. According to Verizon, the smartphone can only be purchased online starting November 23, and will be available in stores in January 2012.

The carrier also confirms that the Illusion is equipped with a 1 GHz single core Samsung Hummingbird processor, as well as a 3.0-megapixel rear camera.

Software-wise, the Samsung Illusion is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and provides quick access to more than 300,000 apps available to download from Android Market.

Support for Google Mobile Services, such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Search and Google Maps is included as well, along with a fast HTML Web browser, a music player and social networking applications.

With SWYPE technology, users will be able to type faster and more accurate, while corporate email support for Microsoft Office Exchange will provide users with the possibility to synchronize their emails, contacts and calendars from their office email.

The phone comes with Mobile Hotspot capability, Blueototh 3.0 and Wi-Fi support, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

Furthermore, the Illusion has been designed with the environment in mind, so it's one of those eco-friendly smartphones that are so rarely launched in the market.

In this regard, the phone's rear casing and battery cover are made from 70% post-consumer material, while the front casing uses only 35% of the same material. In addition, the sales package is made from bleach-free paper and printed with vegetable ink.
