As expected, Verizon has finally announced that the HTC Trophy will be available for purchase online starting May 26th and via stores and authorized sellers from June 2nd

HTC Trophy is the first Windows Phone 7 handset that the carrier added to its portfolio. Potential customers can buy the Trophy for as low as $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year agreement.

However, customers who decide to pick it will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package.

The carrier's plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access and an unlimited smartphone data plan is $29.99 for monthly access.

As we reported earlier, the HTC Trophy is expected to be available at various retailers such as Costco.

Those hoping to save some money will probably be disappointed by the fact that Costco's offering for the Trophy is no better than Verizon's.

Still, it appears that Costco throws in additional accessories for the phone such as a leather case and a car charger, which are included in the sales package.

On the other hand, Verizon customers who buy an HTC Trophy before July 15 get to choose one of the following Xbox 360 console games offered for free: Halo Reach, Kinect Sports and Lode Runner.

Specs-wise the HTC Trophy is equipped with a single core 1 GHz Snapdragon processor manufactured by Qualcomm and a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen.

The phone's 5-megapixel photo snapper features autofocus, LED flash, as well as video recording capabilities (720p).

Other interesting features of the phone include 16 GB on-board storage, 576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, and GPS with A-GPS (Bing Maps).

In addition, the smartphone comes bundled with HTC Hub and Microsoft Office package, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the Office Hub and data access on SharePoint servers.
