All major wireless carriers in the United States have Windows Phone 7 devices available for their customers, all except Verizon Wireless, though it seems that things are about to change fast.

The mobile phone carrier has been long rumored to plan the release of HTC Trophy as its first Windows Phone 7 device, and things have been almost confirmed.

The HTC Trophy has just made an appearance on Verizon's website, in a promotion aimed at Microsoft employees interested in the acquisition of a Windows Phone 7 device on this carrier's network.

According to some of the latest rumors on the matter, Verizon might introduce the new device as soon as Thursday, March 24th, though it would not come too much as a surprise if the carrier made the move earlier than that.

According to the said page on Verizon's website (via WPCentral), the special offer it has in place for Microsoft employees ends on April 1st, and it would make sense for the device to land much sooner than that.

Those who would like to benefit from the deal should know that Verizon offers them $100 in billing credit (per line) on their account.

The mobile phone is said to feature a price tag of $199 on contract, though Microsoft employees would be reimbursed the entire cost of the device.

Further more, Verizon would send an email to interested customers to inform them on the availability of this Windows Phone 7-based smartphone.

With April 1st a little more than one week ahead, Verizon is expected to make the HTC Trophy official and available very soon, though an official confirmation on the handset's landing date did not emerge for the time being.

However, Verizon is expected to make a formal announcement very soon, most probably before or on Thursday, so keep an eye on this space to learn more info on the matter.
