On Thursday, mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless announced that it would start selling the highly popular Apple iPad via its stores all around the country starting with October 28th, and some more info on the matter emerged, including details on the data plans it has put in place for the new device.

Starting with October 28th, all those Verizon Wireless customers who will purchase the iPad from their carrier would have the possibility to choose from a number of three different data plans specifically tailored for them.

The cheaper data plan Verizon put in place for the iPad would bring users 1GB of data for $20. However, customers can also choose a 3GB plan that costs $30, as well as a 5GB option that has been priced at $50.

The new offering looks pretty appealing, especially when compared to the previously available plans for the MiFi (the iPad is bundled with the MiFi hotspot).

Not to mention that the price of the bundle would bring the MiFi to Verizon's users for less than half the normal price of the device.

When it comes to the MiFi plans, we can count a $35 option that would offer 250MB of data to Verizon's users, along with a $60 plan that includes 5GB of data.

As for the price of the device itself, the iPad + MiFi offering seems pretty appealing, with the hotspot down from $269.99 to only $130 (a $140 discount).

Of course, the MiFi is also available for less on the wireless carrier's airwaves, but only when coupled with a two-year agreement, while the above options do not include committing to a monthly contract.

For those who might have missed the initial announcement, we should note that Verizon has three bundles in place for its customers interested in the purchase of a iPad Wi-Fi model and a Verizon MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

The iPad Wi-Fi 16GB + MiFi bundle goes for $629.99 at Big Red, the iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi is priced at $729.99, while iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi costs $829.99.

What should be noted here is that the iPad model that would arrive at Verizon stores on October 28th is the one that sports only Wi-Fi connectivity, and not the one with support for 3G networks.

However, this is might be only the beginning, and the carrier might soon announce some more offerings for its users, including the launch of an iPad model with CDMA connectivity.

And, hopefully, a CDMA-enabled iPhone would also follow soon afterwards, though this is only a wild guess for the time being (reports on the iPhone being on its way to Verizon emerged into the wild a while ago, but nothing was officially confirmed as of now).
