Tomorrow, February 3rd, is the day when Verizon Wireless makes the Apple iPhone available for pre-order on its airwaves. Starting with 3 a.m. EST, carrier's existing customers can head to its website and place an order for the handset, while having it shipped before or on February 10th, the day when the iPhone 4 becomes generally available at Big Red.

According to Verizon, it decided to offer its customers the possibility to reserve one iPhone 4 before other users can purchase the device too so as to thank them for waiting for this day.

“We appreciate our many customers who told us that iPhone 4 should be on the nation’s most reliable network,” said Dan Mead, chief executive officer for Verizon Wireless.

“We heard them and we agreed, which is why we are letting them be among the first to own an iPhone 4 on the Verizon Wireless network. We thought it fitting to say thank you to our customers by giving them the phone they want, a week before the general population.”

Starting with February 10th, all users in the United States would be able to acquire the smartphone from operator. Big Red would make it available via all of its over 2,000 Verizon Wireless Communication Stores nationwide, and Apple would also sell the CDMA device through its retail locations.

In addition to reminding its customers that the iconic device would become available for purchase on its airwaves on February 10th, with the aforementioned pre-order availability in a few hours, Verizon also confirmed again the price tag this device would sport.

The 16 GB iPhone 4 model would be put on sale with a price tag of $199.99 attached to it upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, while the 32 GB flavor of the device would cost $299.99 on contract.

Those interested in the Verizon iPhone 4 would be able to try the device with a Nationwide Talk plan (beginning at $39.99 for 450 minutes) from the carrier, or with a Nationwide Talk and Text plan (starting at $59.99, with unlimited text, picture and video messaging included).

An unlimited Email and Web data plan, available for $29.99 per month, would also be included into the mix, as well as a 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, available at $20 per month for 2 GB of data.
