Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is the second operator in the United States to make the Apple iPhone available for purchase on its airwaves, and some more info on the monthly plans in would put in place for users started to emerge.

One of the details that would certainly interest those who would like to purchase the iPhone from Big Red would be the fact that the carrier's $30 unlimited data plan should remain in place for iPhone owners as well.

Moreover, some of the latest reports around the Internet suggest that the $30 monthly plan is set to become available for iPhone 4 purchasers at launch, and Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam is said to have already confirmed the move.

However, the unlimited plan would be available only for a limited period of time, following which the carrier would move to a tiered data plan structure resembling the one available at AT&T.

Another aspect that was confirmed not too long ago was that Verizon plans on charging its iPhone 4 customers $20 per month for the possibility to use the Personal Hotspot feature the handset comes to shelves with.

According to a recent article on Macworld (via BGR), Verizon Wireless’s Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Brenda Raney confirmed the carrier's plans to charge users the said amount on top of the required voice and data plans for the device.

However, it should be noted that the feature is already available at the same cost for other smartphone owners on Verizon Wireless' airwaves.

Apparently, the feature would come with 2GB of separate data, which some suggest that would be much more affordable than AT&T’s tethering solution, which eats data from the same 2GB limit available with the standard iPhone data plan.

The iPhone 4 is set to become available for pre-order for Verizon's existing customers come February 3rd, and should hit general availability on the wireless carrier's network one week later, on February 10th.
