Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just announced the availability of its 4G LTE network in a wider range of markets in the United States.

The company said a few weeks ago that it planned on expanding the 4G network to more cities around the United States, and now the services are available for users in those markets.

A number of 22 markets have seen the 4G service expanded to them, and more should get a taste of the enhanced speeds it can offer before the end of November.

The wireless carrier plans on making the LTE network available in all of the markets where it currently offers 3G services before the end of 2013.

In addition to offering 4G coverage to its entire 3G footprint, the carrier will also add new, more appealing devices to its offering in the near future.

At the moment, users can purchase various LTE smartphones from the carrier, along with USB sticks and tablet PCs.

Some of the most recent LTE smartphones available on Verizon's network include the Motorola DROID Bionic, along with the Samsung Stratosphere, or the Pantech Breakout.

The carrier also has the 4G-enabled Motorola XOOM tablet PC available for its customers, though it was packing only 3G connectivity until not too long ago.

The Verizon 4G LTE network has just made its debut in the following markets:

Birmingham, Alabama; Modesto and Stockton, California; Fort Myers, Florida; South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Elkhart and Goshen, Indiana; Sioux City, Iowa; Hagerstown, Maryland; Tupelo, Mississippi; Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico; Buffalo, New York; Asheville, North Carolina; Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Jackson and Martin, Tennessee; Greater Hampton Roads and Richmond, Virginia and Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Additionally, the wireless carrier announced that its 4G services were expanded in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Erie, Pennsylvania.

More cities will receive the network enhancement on November 17th, the carrier announced. At that time, two new LTE-capable smartphones are expected to be available for its customers, including the Motorola DROID RAZR, and the Samsung GALAXY Nexus.
