The time has come for Verizon Wireless to remind its customers that they can download and install on their DROID by Motorola devices a series of applications that the carrier itself has made available for them. As usual, the wireless operator has these solutions highlighted in the Verizon Channel in the Android Market, and they are meant to help DROID owners keep things organized while they are on the go.

Among the solutions Verizon puts on display this week in its Android Market channel, we can count the My Verizon application, which offers users the possibility to access their Verizon Wireless accounts to check on their balances, usage numbers and payment information. Moreover, the app also enables them to update features, services and Family SharePlan lines, the carrier notes.

Visual Voice Mail is yet another appealing software solution Verizon touts as useful on the Motorola DROID. The application can be used with a $2.99 monthly subscription, and provides access to voice mail messages, enabling users to scroll through the inbox so as to choose which message they want to listen to. One can delete or reply to messages through this app as well, and they can choose to respond immediately via text message or callback.

Other apps Verizon highlights include: - V CAST Media Manager – This free app allows customers to move and organize pictures, videos and music between their computers and DROID by Motorola smartphones. Customers can edit photos, create photo albums to e-mail to their friends, import song playlists, and rip and burn CDs. - VZW Tones 4.0 – This free app allows customers to preview, purchase and manage all of the latest and greatest ringtones and ringback tones, all from their DROID by Motorola smartphones. - ScanLife Barcode Reader – Together with ScanBuy, Verizon Wireless is helping customers use the cameras on their DROID by Motorola smartphones. Customers can scan a barcode to view product price comparisons without sending, typing or searching. This free app turns DROID into a 2D barcode scanner that recognizes all major barcodes.

We should further mention the Verizon FiOS Mobile and FiOS Mobile Remote applications the carrier talks about. The former allows users to remotely program Verizon FiOS DVRs directly from the DROID, and also offers them the possibility to browse and search TV program listings and more. As for the latter solution, it enables users to control their FiOS TVs from the handset, to view photos from the DROID on the TV screen, or mute the TV when receiving phone calls.
