Preparing for IFA, as far as Verbatim is concerned, involves more than one type of storage product, meaning that the recently unveiled Store 'n' Go HDDs will be accompanied by a SSD release as well.

The IFA 2011 trade show, set to occur between September 2 and 7 of this year, will, naturally, have Verbatim showing off its newest creations and projects.

Several products have already been presented, those being addition to the company's range of portable and external HDDs.

It so happens, however, that the press release that revealed those items also included information on other things, and this includes more than just LED lighting solutions.

What Verbatim also has in store is a set of solid state drives aimed at notebook PCs and, should users so desire, desktops as well.

Models of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities will be available, their reading and writing performance stated to be of up to 250 MB/s and 180 MB/s, respectively.

Like all others of their kind, their purpose is to enable faster boot up times for systems, better responsiveness and higher shock resistance, plus a longer battery life, when compared to HDDs.

Pricing details were not provided, but the company did mention that October is when sales will commence.

A final asset of the offer is that, via a special enclosure, the drive can be used as an external solution and, in using cloning software, also perform automatic data and operating system backup tasks.

Of course, customers that can't afford SSDs or just prefer hard drives can be sure that verbatim will have some internal, 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch HDDs on display at IFA as well, besides the aforementioned Store 'n' Go and Store 'n' Save.

As for consumers that want to bring some color to their lives, Verbatim has also, recently, unveiled Touch of Color Store 'n' Go USB 3.0 units.
