Report: Jessica Simpson demands her own team of stylists for upcoming reality show, costing network $25,000 per episode

After trying her hand at country music and acting in long-feature films, Jessica Simpson is set on returning to her television roots with a brand-new reality show for women. A deal has already been struck with VH1, which will be the network to carry “The Price of Beauty,” and Simpson is now preparing to start work on it. The only problem is that VH1 is paying too much for it and it’s not happy, PageSix reports.

Sources from inside the network are telling the tab that Jessica Simpson is the biggest diva on reality television that the bosses at VH1 have ever seen. While the series was initially meant to show the world the kind of pressure women are under to constantly look good, spies are now dishing out all the dirty details, saying the upcoming production will be more about Jessica than anything else. Moreover, such an undertaking will also cost the network a whopping $25,000 for each episode of “The Price of Beauty” that gets made, PageSix claims.

“VH1 just found out how high ‘The Price of Beauty’ can be. Jessica Simpson is scheduled to start shooting the new show next week and travel to seven countries examining exotic beauty regimens. But VH1 isn’t happy with her budget. ‘To get her camera-ready each episode will cost $25,000,’ said our source. ‘She insists on using her own hair, makeup and fashion stylists, who are more expensive than J.Lo’s.’” the gossip publication writes.

When contacted for comment, VH1 responded that it was not the network’s policy to talk to the media about the financial arrangements it made before starting work on a new project. Similarly, Simpson’s publicist said that whatever arrangement Jessica and VH1 had had been made a long time ago, with both parties being extremely “satisfied” with it. That is to say, in more or less words, that the rumor of VH1 being unhappy about Simpson’s huge bill per episode is simply not true.

As we also informed you a while back, “The Price of Beauty” was reportedly designed to capitalize on the “fat-gate” around Simpson, when almost the entire media criticized her harshly for what was an obvious weight gain. The singer and actress was planning on using her own example as a means of illustrating that beauty was still a major criterion by which women were judged.
