I think that by now it has become pretty clear to anyone that manufacturers are really hard at work trying to push 3D into the consumer space, JVC just announcing two new D-ILA multimedia projectors, both of them supporting 3D as well as Full HD resolution images.

Although I have to say that I don't really find myself as a huge 3D fan these new projectors actually seem to be quite cool since they both come with 1300 lumens brightness as well as support for Full HD resolutions, this missing from quite a few projectors marketed as “multimedia” offerings.

Dubbed the DLA-X7 and the DLA-X3, JVC's new models feature a 70,000:1 and 50,000:1 contrast ratio, respectively, both of them being equipped with two HDMI 1.4a ports, the DLA-X7 also covering 100% of Adobe RGB color palette, an impressive feat for such a device.

Besides the two HDMI ports, these projectors also come with an RCA input as well as a D-Sub VGA port for those of you that own older computers or DVD players, the DLA-X7 adding an Ethernet connection to the mix so this model is capable of streaming content directly from your network.

Sadly, both the DLA-X7 and the DLA-X3 aren't bundled with 3D glasses or a transmitter, users having to buy these separate, JVC also building such devices.

Unfortunately, these will be available only in Japan for now, the DLA-X7 coming in at at around 840,000 Yen (around $10,429 US) in December while is smaller brother, the DLA-X3 will also be available in December but JVC did not communicate any price on this product yet, although I wouldn't get my hopes up.

For that much money I would have certainly liked for the manufacturer to include at least a transmitter and a pair of glasses with these new projectors since buying them both from JVC will sett you back another $239 US. (via akihabaranews)
