Embedding touchscreen technology in pretty much any kind of gadgets has been more a question of when rather than an “if” matter, and the new audio systems recently showcased by major manufacturer JVC are the perfect proof of that. If you were, by any chance, looking for some audio systems to boast excellent sound response, sleek looks that turn a lot of heads and come loaded with plenty of nifty features, then look no further than the three freshly-announced JVC tools: the UX-GN6, UX-LP5, and the UX-G200.

These micro systems sport all the 21st century-approved design and specs, and, of course, they come with iPod support. Moreover, there is more to this new audio gear than meets the eye.

The first thing anyone will notice is, naturally, their full-face touchscreen design: you get a lustrous faceplate with embedded touch-sensitive technology bringing your capabilities to control these small audio racks to a completely new level. The new JVC micro systems can handle a lot of complex touchscreen gestures, pretty much like you've seen in SciFi movies... and this is only the beginning.

Waking any of these mini-boomboxes from their standby mode needs no press of a button: just wave your hand in front of them and they'll come alive, lighting all the essential command zones and symbols, and offering you all the critical data you need. The UX-GN6 will retail for around $200, and it sports a top-mounted iPod dock, with a whopping total power capability of 120W, CD playback, AM/FM tuner, and no-nonsense two-way speakers.

The UX-LP5 comes with a retractable front-side iPod dock, and packs 70W for a price just under $150, while the smallest unit, the UX-G200, will retail for around $100, and will come with a 16 W power rating, USB Host port, CD player, AM/FM tuner, timer/clock, and a front audio input. All three touchscreen boomboxes will hit the stores in March.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
