14 DAY TRIAL // According to recent rumors, Japanese lens manufacturer Sigma is preparing a new firmware update for their Sigma USB Dock. The USB dock is a small and versatile product that allows you to connect any Contemporary, Art and Sports (C, A and S series) lenses to your Mac or PC.
With the USB Dock, one can easily update firmware and other parameters (autofocus speed, optical stabilization functionality, focus etc.) of his Sigma lenses via the internet using the Sigma Optimization Pro software.
Photo Rumors has recently discovered that Sigma is working on a new USB Dock firmware update that will allow users to use the dock with other Sigma lenses that are currently not supported (DN lenses for example).
For now, little is known about this future update, but we'll try to find out if this new firmware will make the USB Dock compatible with all Sigma lenses or only with some specific models.
