A little over a month ago, Universal released a 3+-minute red band trailer for one of its upcoming comedies for next year, the star-studded “Your Highness.” Just recently, it has also put out there a more age-appropriate version of the same.

As we also noted at the time, judging by the trailer, “Your Highness” boasts more than a good story, good FX and a brilliant cast: it also boasts some pretty foul language and quite a few revealing scenes.

For the brand new trailer, Universal has removed all potentially offensive elements, including the swearing and, as The Hollywood Reporter also notes, a scene in which Natalie Portman is seen in nothing but a thong.

The odd thing is that the studio decided not to take the scene out altogether, but rather to put more clothes on Portman, which begs the question of how she’ll be pictured in the film when it comes out next year.

“Universal has put out a slightly different new trailer for its stoner fantasy comedy Your Highness. Well, it’s different in at least one very noticeably major way: We see less of star Natalie Portman’s [backside]. A shame, that,” THR writes.

“James Franco, Danny McBride and Zooey Deschanel also star in David Gordon Green’s latest film (he last directed Pineapple Express), though in more fully clothed performances,” the e-zine says.

“In the first trailer’s most notable scene (for me), McBride and Franco watch Portman disrobe next to a lake until she is down to a thong. In this new trailer, the studio has changed Portman into a more traditional bikini-shaped bottom,” THR further writes.

“Your Highness” stars McBride and Franco as two brothers out on a quest to save the princess (Deschanel). On their great adventure, they meet warrior Isabel (Portman), who offers them their assistance but keeps to an agenda of her own.

The film opens in theaters in the US on April 8, 2011. Below is the cleaned-up version of the trailer. Enjoy.
