14 DAY TRIAL // After yesterday's surprise reveal, Sony has just offered more details about Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the third installment in the prestigious action adventure franchise, exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
According to the new details, Uncharted 3 will see lead protagonist Nathan Drake, alongside his mentor Victor Sullivan explore the Arabian desert in search of the "Atlantis of the Sands," and uncover the treasures within.
This doesn't go so well, as Sony revealed that "when terrible secrets of this lost city are uncovered, their journey becomes a desperate bid for survival that will force Drake to confront his deepest fears."
That won't be all, as Uncharted 3 will take Drake through other locations all around the globe, all beautifully rendered by development studio Naughty Dog thanks to upgrades to the physics, particle and visual systems, in order to deliver a top notch interactive cinematic experience.
According to Arne Meyer, community strategist at Naughty Dog, the multiplayer modes will be overhauled and filled with new features in order to improve on the same modes we saw in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
"Competitive and co-op multiplayer will return as a key ingredient to the Uncharted 3 package, where all of the new features we have planned will combine with our signature single-player cinematic gameplay to create a unique action-adventure multiplayer experience that can only be found in the Uncharted universe."
Last but not least, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will support stereoscopic 3D technology, meaning anyone with a compatible 3DTV set will be able to enjoy Drake's new adventures in three dimensions.
Naughty Dog also mentioned that more details would be revealed in the near future, and that a full cinematic trailer would be brought to light during this weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards.
