Ubisoft has been really picking up the pace lately, with plenty of good games released during the year and even better ones to be expected in the very near future. Now, the company has even acquired a new studio to bring even more titles under its name. Nadeo, a Paris based game developer, better known for the multiplayer racing game TrackMania, has become part of the Ubisoft franchise and will join other developer groups stationed in exotic places like Sao Paulo and Shanghai.

The chief executive officer of the towering Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, said that “The acquisition of Nadeo is an important step in our expansion within the online gaming sector," and it should prove to be so. Most of Ubisoft's releases are based around a strong, story-based single player, with very few titles having a proper multiplayer mode and more of a single player spin-off. "Through Nadeo, Ubisoft will gain an expert team, one of the best online technologies around as well as a flagship multiplayer game that enjoys an unrivaled reputation among a loyal and committed community,” Guillemot further stated.

With the acquisition of Nadeo Ubisoft has become part of the TrackMania universe but also of the official sequel planned for the game. "We are excited about the idea of introducing TrackMania to an ever-wider audience and sharing the expertise of Nadeo's teams with our company's other developers."

As is to be expected of Ubisoft, they took the time to properly analyze the French studio and made a thorough check of the business they intended to buy. Nadeo's pride and joy, the online racing game, has 700,000 unique players a month and will prove to be a nice addition to the impressing list of products Ubisoft has. The sequel for the game has an official launch date of September 19 and will include an improved track editor, new environments and updated graphics.
